Jr Sun Devils won the U10 A Championship with a 4-3 victory over Reno Ice Hockey at the Tempe MACU.
The game was full of action, with both teams working hard to get the win. Reno Ice Hockey scored first in the 1st period when Thomas O'Neil made a power-play goal at 14:40, with help from Porter Coates and Milo Abrahamson. At the end of the 1st period, Reno led 1-0.
In the 2nd period, the Jr Sun Devils came out strong. Andrew Loranger scored an even-strength goal at 2:49, tying the game at 1-1. Just 12 seconds later, Maximus Adams put the Jr Sun Devils ahead with another even-strength goal. At 7:32, Ethan Booth extended the lead by scoring on a power play. By the end of the 2nd period, the Jr Sun Devils were up 3-1.
The 3rd period was action-packed. Maximus Adams scored again for the Jr Sun Devils, making it 4-1 at 7:32. Reno Ice Hockey fought back and scored two quick goals. Jaxon Gilbrech scored at 8:19, followed by Porter Coates' goal at 12:56. However, the Jr Sun Devils held on to their lead, winning the game 4-3.
In the end, both teams played hard, but the Jr Sun Devils came out on top. They were led by Maximus Adams, who scored two goals in the game. Their goaltender, Bryson Weres, made 19 saves to secure the win. Reno Ice Hockey’s goaltender, Vianney Kirkilas, saved 11 shots but couldn’t stop the Jr Sun Devils from clinching the championship.
