Jr Sun Devils Defeat CALIFORNIA Wave to Reach Championship in Turkey Shootout

In a nail biting U16AA semi-final game, the Jr Sun Devils showed their strength by defeating the CA Wave McLain with a final score of 7-2 at the Tempe MACU. The game started quickly with CA Wave McLain scoring their only goal early on, as Nathaniel Henderson found the net at 1:05, assisted by Kieren Bowen. But the Jr Sun Devils didn’t take long to respond. Plalanx Schwab scored for the Jr Sun Devils at 2:56, assisted by Indiana Goebig and Maxwell Bear. The Jr Sun Devils then took control with three more goals: Lucas Ishu scored on a power play, Jaikarran Ganesh added a shorthanded goal, and Jacob Figueroa scored to put them ahead 4-1.

The Jr Sun Devils kept the momentum going in the second period. Crew Curry scored at 2:24, assisted by Jacob Figueroa and James Roll. CA Wave McLain tried to fight back with Nathaniel Henderson scoring his second goal of the game at 12:13, assisted by Jaden Garcia and John Rebanal. However, just 44 seconds later, Jaikarran Ganesh added another goal for the Jr Sun Devils, making it 6-2. In the third period, the Jr Sun Devils sealed the win with a final goal. Noah Gallo scored at 6:38, assisted by Casen Miller and Mason Passmore, making the score 7-2.

The Jr Sun Devils outshot CA Wave McLain 35-13, with the Wave struggling to get enough shots on goal. Both teams had penalties, with the Jr Sun Devils receiving six minutes in penalties and CA Wave McLain receiving four. Despite the penalty time, the Jr Sun Devils were able to take control of the game and keep their lead. Jaikarran Ganesh was a standout, scoring two goals and contributing an assist. Crew Curry and Jacob Figueroa also played big roles, each with a goal and multiple assists. Nathaniel Henderson scored both of his team’s goals for CA Wave McLain, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Jr Sun Devils’ offensive power. In the end, the Jr Sun Devils showed why they’re a top contender, winning the game with a convincing 7-2 score and earning a spot in the championship.
