Flagstaff Eagles Soar in High-Scoring Pre-Season Showdown

In an electrifying pre-season showdown at the Wayne DeCombs West Side Invitational, the Flagstaff Eagles soared past the Verrado Vipers with a thrilling 15-10 victory!

From the get-go, Flagstaff’s bats were on fire. They struck first with a run in the 1st inning, but it was their explosive 4th inning that stole the show. With a jaw-dropping 9 runs, the Eagles soared to an 11-0 lead, leaving fans on their feet. Despite a valiant comeback attempt by Verrado, who rallied with 5 runs in both the 5th and 6th innings, Flagstaff proved too powerful, adding 4 more runs in the 7th to seal the win.

Flagstaff’s offensive firepower was led by Canyon Kirkman, who dazzled with a .500 average and two home runs. Luke Hewes also brought the heat with a scorching .667 average. The Eagles’ aggressive base running, including 5 stolen bases, and flawless defense (fielding percentage of .815) showcased their all-around dominance.

Verrado’s struggle was palpable, with a dismal .148 batting average and a team ERA of 13.00. Despite standout performances from Ranger Knudson, the Vipers couldn’t match Flagstaff’s relentless drive.

Flagstaff’s explosive offense and airtight defense set the stage for an exhilarating season ahead, while Verrado will need to regroup and re-energize as they look to bounce back.
