Verrado Rallies Past Tigard in High-Scoring Battle
Under the bright lights at home, Verrado put on a show, rallying past Tigard (OR) for a 15-9 win in a game full of big swings and clutch moments.
Tigard came out swinging, jumping to an early 4-1 lead by the third inning. But Verrado wasn’t about to let that slide. The Vipers exploded for six runs in the bottom of the third, flipping the momentum and getting the home crowd fired up.
Colton Zacher led the charge at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBIs, including a huge double that helped break the game wide open. Ronal Urquiola and Eli Bebleh chipped in with solid multi-hit performances, as Verrado piled up 12 hits on the night.
On the mound, Braxton Bjur battled through four innings, striking out 11 while allowing four earned runs. Lucas Spitzock came in strong for 2.2 innings, giving up just one hit to keep Tigard in check. Jackson Duncan ran into some trouble in the seventh, but the Vipers had built up enough of a cushion to seal the win.
Tigard’s Grant Fensler did his best to keep his team in it, knocking in two runs on a 2-for-4 night, while Carter Jordan and Oliver Jones each crossed the plate twice. But their pitching struggled to contain Verrado’s offense, with A. Pearson taking the loss after giving up seven runs in 2.2 innings.
With the crowd behind them, Verrado kept pouring it on, adding runs in the fifth and sixth to stay in control. By the final out, the energy in the stands matched the action on the field—electric, confident, and full of momentum heading into their next matchup.
